The Video Game Of All Time

I have played many video games over the years in different genres and skill sets. As a connoisseur of video games there is no game that hits different than RollerCoaster Tycoon (RTC).

Nostalgia plays a huge factor into this for me. I grew playing RTC for years and was the game that honestly made me fall in love with playing video games. RTC made me fall in love with roller coasters and amusement parks. RTC has provided me with some of my best memories from growing up. I can remember in the wintertime going outside to sled with my older sisters and we would come back inside and drink hot coco and play RTC together for hours.

I think it is the perfect game because there is so much freedom in choosing what to do and how to do it. There is no right or wrong way to play the game. This is the main reason why I think RTC is the best game I have ever played. You do not even need to know what you are doing to have a great time playing the game. And since I have played RTC for so long it is really rewarding to become good at the game and it is still a ton of fun. RTC came out in 1999. There is before I was even born! That is a bit crazy if you ask me that a game that is over 22 years old is my favorite game of all time. It just shows that games do not need fancy graphics and complicated gameplay or story lines to create a fun enjoyable experience. RTC has grainy pixelated graphics but they just seem to work and flow with the game.

In my opinion the best types of games are the ones which are simple and easy to learn but hard and time consuming to master. Either way the player feels rewarded and has an enjoyable time. RTC is just one of many like this for me but it is definitely my number one. Without I would be a completely different person. Think about it if I never play RTC I may have never played backyard soccer, 3d chess, I would have never played the Wii, I would have never bought an Xbox, and eventually never built a PC. It is crazy how play one video game has changed my life.
